I am a native Austinite, having grown up in Hyde Park and Tarrytown. Designing and creating handcrafted jewelry has become
my favorite craft. As is true with many jewelry artists, I had fun with other crafts prior to jewelry -- knitting, crocheting, quilting,
sewing, painting and landscaping. I now often find myself looking at what people are wearing and thinking. "That top would
really look great with a [jasper] [turquoise] [jade] . . necklace." You can fill in the blanks; you get my point. I have found myself
looking at vases and lamps in a home decorating store and thinking how their bases matched a certain stone, or when seeing
ladies' fashions, I visualize how my jewelry would match their designs and colors.
I enjoy working with natural stones because they reflect beauty from the earth and are very warm and unpretentious. Lapidary
work is a great love of mine. I enjoy cutting and polishing the stones, giving them life. Thanks to friends Adolph Krchnak and
James Lopez for teaching me this craft. Thanks also to Ron Cowick, Joe Ebersol and James Lynn for introducing me to and
helping me with jewelry fabrication. Now my latest project is faceting precious gemstones. Watch this site for additions using
cabochons and faceted stones.
Thank you for letting me share this little bit of information about me. I hope you enjoy my creations and stay in touch by
bookmarking this site. I welcome any ideas you may have for designs of the jewelry or if there is something that you would like
to see added to this website.
